The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where then are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
