The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I secretly plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
