Messengers! Partake of the things that are clean, and act righteously. I know well all that you do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 But people later cut up their religion into bits, each group rejoicing in what they have. 53 So leave them in their error for a time. 54 What, do they think that We succour them with of wealth and children, 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord, 57 and who believe in their Sustainer's messages, 58 And those who do not associate (aught) with their Lord, 59 And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning). 60 These people hasten to perform goodness, and it is they who shall reach it first. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- 63 Until, when We grasp those of them who lead a luxurious life with punishment, behold! They make humble invocation with a loud voice. 64 Do not cry out for help this day, for surely you shall not be helped by Us. 65 Indeed My Verses used to be recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels (denying them, and with hatred to listen to them). 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging? 69 or you said that he is possessed by satan? In fact, he has brought you the truth, but most of you dislike it. 70 And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. 71 Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 and surely they that believe not in the world to come are deviating from the path. 74 ۞ And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. 75 Already We have seized them with the punishment, but they neither humbled themselves to their Lord, nor did they beseech Him, 76 To the extent that when We opened the gate of a severe punishment for them, they thereupon lie despairingly in it. 77
