The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 and weigh with the straight balance, 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
