The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the night when it departs, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
