The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 [Containing] the fire full of fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 Behold, it is He who creates [man] in the first instance, and He [it is who] will bring him forth anew. 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 On a guarded tablet. 22

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
