The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER the bright morning hours, 1 And by the Night when it is still,- 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 Indeed what is to come will be better for you than what has gone by. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient. 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, 9 nor drive away the one who asks. 10 and of thy Sustainer's blessings shalt thou [ever] speak. 11
