And the people of the Hijr (rocks) denied the Noble Messengers. 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 and who have broken the Scripture into fragments -- 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 Hence, proclaim openly all that thou hast been bidden [to say,] and leave alone all those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 even against those who set up with God another god. Certainly they will soon know! 96 And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say. 97 Therefore proclaim the Purity of your Lord with praise, and be of those who prostrate. 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
