Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the Envoys; 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 They used to say before: 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 And peace be unto those sent (to warn). 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
