The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
