And to Samood (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; clear proof indeed has come to you from your Lord; this is (as) Allah's she-camel for you-- a sign, therefore leave her alone to pasture on Allah's earth, and do not touch her with any harm, otherwise painful chastisement will overtake you. 73 "And remember when He made you successors after 'Ad (people) and gave you habitations in the land, you build for yourselves palaces in plains, and carve out homes in the mountains. So remember the graces (bestowed upon you) from Allah, and do not go about making mischief on the earth." 74 Said the eminent ones who were arrogant among his people to those who were oppressed - to those who believed among them, "Do you [actually] know that Salih is sent from his Lord?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which he was sent, are believers." 75 The proud ones said, “We deny what you have believed in.” 76 So they hamstrung the she-camel and rebelled against the command of their Lord and said, “O Saleh! Bring upon us what you promise us, if you are a Noble Messenger.” 77 So the earthquake seized them, and they lay (dead), prostrate in their homes. 78 He turned away from them saying, "My people, I preached the Message of my Lord to you and gave you good advice, but you do not love advisors." 79 And We sent Lot, who said to his people: "Why do you commit this lecherous act which none in the world has committed before? 80 Verily, with lust you approach men instead of women: nay, but you are people given to excesses!" 81 But the answer of his people was only that they said, "Evict them from your city! Indeed, they are men who keep themselves pure." 82 But we saved him and his family, except his wife: she was of those who legged behind. 83 and We let loose a shower [of stones] upon them, Observe, then, the end of the evil-doers. 84
