Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
