The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 But the foremost shall be [they who in life were] the foremost [in faith and good works]: 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 and banana trees, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water gushing, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 on raised couches. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virginal, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
