Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
