The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 pay their religious tax 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then after that you will most surely die. 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
