Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
