The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
