20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you (Prophet Muhammad) wrapped, 1 Stand (to pray) all night, except a little. 2 It may be half the night or a little less than that 3 or a little more, but recite the Quran slowly and distinctly. 4 Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word. 5 Verily, the rising by night (for Tahajjud prayer) is very hard and most potent and good for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (understanding) the Word (of Allah). 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with (exclusive) devotion. 8 The Lord of the East and the West-- there is no god but He-- therefore take Him for a protector. 9 Bear patiently whatever they say, do not yield to them and keep on preaching decently to them. 10 And let Me alone with the beliers, owners of ease: and respite thou them a little. 11 With Us are Fetters (to bind them), and a Fire (to burn them), 12 And food which choketh (the partaker), and a painful doom 13 On the day when the earth and the mountains shall quake and the mountains shall become (as) heaps of sand let loose. 14 Surely We have sent unto you a Messenger as a witness over you, even as We sent to Pharaoh a Messenger, 15 But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger; so We seized him with a heavy Punishment. 16 Then how, if ye disbelieve, will ye protect yourselves upon the day which will turn children grey, 17 Whereby heaven shall be split, and its promise shall be performed. 18 Indeed this is nothing but a Good Counsel; so let him who will take a way leading to his Lord. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
