We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; 26 and the jinn before (the human being) of smokeless fire. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 except iblis (father of the jinn) who refused to be one of those who prostrated themselves. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate 39 Save such of them as are Thy perfectly devoted slaves. 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee, 42 And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place. 43 It hath seven gates, and each gate hath an appointed portion. 44

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
