On the Day when every soul will come pleading for itself, and every soul will be repaid what it did, and they will not be wronged. 111 God has struck a similitude: a city that was secure, at rest, its provision coming to it easefully from every place, then it was unthankful for the blessings of God; so God let it taste the garment of hunger and of fear, for the things that they were working. 112 A Messenger from their own people came to them and they called him a liar. Torment struck them because of their injustice. 113 Eat of the lawful and good things with which Allah has provided you and be thankful for the favors of Allah if it is He you worship. 114 He hath forbidden for you only carrion and blood and swineflesh and that which hath been immolated in the name of any other than Allah; but he who is driven thereto, neither craving nor transgressing, lo! then Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 115 And do not say – the lie which your tongues speak – “This is lawful, and this is forbidden” in order to fabricate a lie against Allah; indeed those who fabricate lies against Allah will never prosper. 116 A brief enjoyment [may be theirs in this world] - but grievous suffering awaits them [in the life to come]! 117 And for those who were Jews We prohibited what We have related to you already, and We did them no injustice, but they were unjust to themselves. 118 Yet surely your Lord, with respect to those who do an evil in ignorance, then turn after that and make amends, most surely your Lord after that is Forgiving, Merciful. 119
