Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 And not known my account! 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
