The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
