The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
