Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
