Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In high empyrean 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
