Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
A. L. M. 1 The revelation of this Book free of doubt and involution is from the Lord of all the worlds. 2 Or do they say, "He invented it"? Rather, it is the truth from your Lord, [O Muhammad], that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you [so] perhaps they will be guided. 3 It is God who created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, in six spans, then assumed all authority. You have no protector other than Him, nor any intercessor. Will you not be warned even then? 4 He disposeth every affair from the heaven unto the earth; thereafter it shall ascend unto Him in a Day the measure whereof is one thousand years of that which ye compute. 5 He knows the unseen and the seen. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 6 Who made all things He created excellent; and first fashioned man from clay, 7 then He made his offspring from a clot of weak water (semen). 8 and then He forms him in accordance with what he is meant to be, and breathes into him of His spirit: and [thus, O men,] He endows you with hearing, and sight, and feelings as well as minds: [yet] how seldom are you grateful! 9 They have said, "How can we be brought to life again after we have been lost in the earth?" In fact, they have no faith in the Day of Judgment 10 ۞ Say, "The angel of death will take you who has been entrusted with you. Then to your Lord you will be returned." 11
