(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
