Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 They know what you do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
