Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired. 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
