Did not the disbelievers observe that the heavens and the earth were together, so We parted them, and we made every living thing from water? So will they not accept faith? 30 And We have placed in the earth firm mountains lest it should move away with them, and We placed therein passages for paths, that haply they may be guided. 31 And We have made the heavens as a canopy well guarded: yet do they turn away from the Signs which these things (point to)! 32 and [fail to see that] it is He who has created the night and the day and the sun and the moon - all of them floating through space! 33 And We appointed not for any human being before thee immortality; if thou then diest, are they to be immortals? 34 Every soul shall taste death. We will try you with a trial of evil and good. Then, to Us you shall be returned. 35 When the Unbelievers see thee, they treat thee not except with ridicule. "Is this," (they say), "the one who talks of your gods?" and they blaspheme at the mention of (Allah) Most Gracious! 36 Man was created of haste, surely I shall show you My signs, so ask Me not to hasten. 37 They say: 'If you are truthful, when will this promise come' 38 If only those who disbelieve have known of the time when they shall not be able to ward off from their faces the Fire nor from their backs, nor shall they be succoured! 39 Rather, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved. 40 Many apostles have been scoffed before you; but they who scoffed were themselves caught by what they had ridiculed. 41
