When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me. 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 Musa (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was an ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message). 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you can believe." 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
