Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 we are they that give glory. 166 And indeed the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So turn away from them for a while. 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 Leave them alone for a while, 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
