And remember Our servant Job: when he cried to his Lord: “Behold, Satan has afflicted me with much hardship and suffering.” 41 [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink." 42 We gave him back his family and doubled their number as a blessing from Us and as a reminder to the people of understanding. 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 Remember Our votaries Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of power and insight. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good. 47 And make mention of Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. All are of the chosen. 48 This is an advice; and indeed for the pious is an excellent abode. 49 Gardens of Eden with gates open wide to them, 50 Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink; 51 ۞ And with them are the pure spouses, who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, of single age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 Hell, in which they will burn. How vile a resting place! 56 This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence. 57 Taste the scalding water, pus, and other putrid things". 58 Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They shall say: Our Lord! whoever prepared it first for us, add Thou to him a double chastisement in the fire. 61 And they will say: 'Why do we not see the men that we counted as being among the wicked in here? 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or is it that [they are here, and] our eyes have missed them?" 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
