Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
