The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 The closing night, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
