The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
