Say: Who guards you by night and by day from the Beneficent Allah? Nay, they turn aside at the mention of their Lord. 42 Or have they gods that can guard them from Us? They have no power to aid themselves, nor can they be defended from Us. 43 Nay, We have allowed these [sinners] - as [We allowed] their forebears - to enjoy the good things of life for a great length of time: but then - have they never yet seen how We visit the earth [with Our punishment,] gradually depriving it of all that is best thereon? Can they, then, [hope to] be the winners? 44 Say, "I only warn you by revelation." But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned. 45 And if [as much as] a whiff of the punishment of your Lord should touch them, they would surely say, "O woe to us! Indeed, we have been wrongdoers." 46 And We will set up a just balance on the day of resurrection, so no soul shall be dealt with unjustly in the least; and though there be the weight of a grain of mustard seed, (yet) will We bring it, and sufficient are We to take account. 47 We gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion, and gave them a light and a Remembrance for the cautious: 48 Those who fear their Lord without seeing and who apprehend the Last Day. 49 And this [Qur'an] is a blessed message which We have sent down. Then are you with it unacquainted? 50
