The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great news - 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 The heavens will have openings like doors. 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 save boiling water and pus 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
