And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 and indeed, We chose them knowingly above all other people, 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 These people say, 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
