Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
