And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail – peace be upon them – is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
