Have you seen the one who turned away 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
