Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 which guides to the right path; so we have believed in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord, 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 'And that the foolish among us [i.e. Iblis (Satan) or the polytheists amongst the jinns] used to utter against Allah that which was wrong and not right. 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; 6 Like you, they thought that Allah would never raise the dead. 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. 9 we cannot tell if this bodes evil to those who dwell on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace): 13 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 ‘In order to test them with it; and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord – He will put him in a punishment that keeps on increasing.’ 17 All places of worship are for God; so do not invoke any one with God. 18 And when the bondman of Allah stood calling upon Him, they well nigh pressed on him stifling. 19
