The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and gently take it away; 2 by those that swim serenely 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
