The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
And by the sun and its brightness; 1 and the moon as it reflects the sun! 2 And the day when it shows it, 3 by the night, when it envelops it! 4 By the heaven and Who built it, 5 And the earth and Him Who extended it, 6 By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it; 7 and inspired it to lewdness and godfearing! 8 He who purifies it will prosper, 9 And he will indeed fail who corrupts it. 10 Thamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression, 11 When among them the great wretch arose, 12 Then Allah's Messenger warned them: “Hands off the she-camel and her drink!” 13 But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings). 14 for none [of them] had any fear of what might befall them. 15
God the Almighty always says the truth.
