The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 What is your opinion if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19

Notes and Instructions
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
