O you apostles, eat things that are clean, and do things that are good. We are surely cognisant of what you do. 51 Your nation is but one nation, and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me. 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 So leave them in their intoxication till a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We vie in good works for them? Nay, but they are not aware. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 and believe in His messages 58 who consider nothing equal to their Lord, 59 And those who give whatsoever they give, while their hearts are anxious that unto their Lord they are to be returners. 60 those vie in good works, outracing to them. 61 And We do not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent of its ability, and with Us is a book which speaks the truth, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing. 63 Until, when We seize in Punishment those of them who received the good things of this world, behold, they will groan in supplication! 64 Do not cry out for help this day, for surely you shall not be helped by Us. 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 Stiff-necked, discoursing thereof by night, reviling. 67 Have they not pondered over the word of God? Has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or, is it because they do not recognize their Messenger that they denied him? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their caprices, the heavens and the earth and whosoever in them is had surely corrupted. Nay, We brought them their Remembrance, but from their Remembrance they turned. 71 Are you asking them for something? What Allah has given you is the best. He is the Best of providers. 72 And indeed you call them to the Straight Path. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ And even were We to show them mercy and remove whatever distress might befall them [in this life,] they would still persist in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 75 And assuredly We took hold of them with the torment, yet they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they entreat. 76 until We open before them a gate of harsh punishment and then they will be dumbfounded. 77
