Seest thou not those that dispute concerning the Signs of Allah? How are they turned away (from Reality)?- 69 they who give the lie to this divine writ and [thus] to all [the messages] with which We sent forth Our apostles [of old]? But in time they will come to know [how blind they have been: they will know it on Judgment Day,] 70 when they shall have to carry the shackles and chains [of their own making] around their necks, 71 into boiling water and then they will be burned in the fire. 72 It will then be said to them: “Where are those whom you 73 “As rivals to Allah?”; they will say, “We have lost them – in fact we never used to worship anything before!”; this is how Allah sends the disbelievers astray. 74 That is because you exulted in the land unjustly and because you behaved insolently. 75 “Enter the gates of hell, to remain in it forever”; so what a wretched destination for the haughty! 76 So be patient [Prophet], for God's promise is true: whether We show you part of what We have promised them in this life, or cause you to die first, it is to Us that they will be recalled. 77 We sent Messengers before thee; of some We have related to thee, and some We have not related to thee. It was not for any Messenger to bring a sign, save by God's leave. When God's command comes, justly the issue shall be decided; then the vain-doers shall be lost. 78
