He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 To him you give attention. 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 exalted, purified, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 noble and purified. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 olives, dates, 29 the densely tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 Some faces will shine, 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
