The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [those who give less in measure and weight (decrease the rights of others)], 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 On a Great Day, 5 a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 A Register inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Verily, Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil) will be in delight (Paradise). 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
